Charitable Organizations

GuideStar contains a "database of comprehensive reports describing the programs and finances of over 40,000 American nonprofit organizations. GuideStar is provided by Philanthropic Research, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization."

The Foundation Center is an independent nonprofit information clearinghouse whose mission is "to foster public understanding of the foundation field by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects. The audiences that call on the Center's resources include grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public." This excellent site contains detailed information on private foundations and corporate grantmakers (with comprehensive links to their Internet sites) and specific information on the fundraising process, including examples of common grant application forms and a short course on writing proposals.

Financial Institutions

Financial Net, sponsored by EDS, "strives to be the premier provider of financial industry resources on the Internet." It provides a directory or financial institutions that can be accessed by clicking on a map of the world or using a search engine.

Banks of the World presented by IfBG Gottingen, provides links to bank home pages all over the world. A very comprehensive site.

Franchising

The American Bar Association's Forum on Franchising "is a Forum Committee of the American Bar Association. Its nearly 2,500 members represent all aspects of the Field of Franchise Law."

The Franchise Handbook Online provides news, articles, a franchise directory, a segment on featured franchises and links to other franchise sites.

The International Franchise Association page contains articles, an online guide to franchise opportunities, a calendar of events and links to other franchising resources.

The Let's Talk Business Network site includes an archive of Franchise Times articles on franchising as well as a series of radio programs on franchising made available over the Web by RealAudio technology.

A great site to visit if you are interested in international trade or travel.

I-Trade inclues resources like the U.S. Customs Guide to Importing, the Department of Commerce Basic Guide to Exporting, and information about analyzing market opportunities abroad.

Virtual Africa provides information about trade with South Africa.
