engines and directories." Great overview of what search engines are and how to
get your listing noticed.

the URL for your web site, then enter one or more keywords that represent your product or
service. PositionAgent will search the leading engines and create a report detailing
whether the site is found and at which position." The free version searches the
first 5 pages of results from 12 top search engines and 20 pages from Yahoo and
Alta-Vista. The commercial version will keep you updated on you listings by email, and
costs $60 for 6 months of weekly reports on 5 URL/keyword combinations.

community." If the information and lists that this site has are any indication
of the quality of their services, these would be good people to have working for you.

databases, search engines & links pages where you can list your site for free. This is
a free service to aid and simplify your Web Site promotion efforts." What this
site lacks in graphic splendor it makes up in scope. Lots of links to post your URL to,
sorted into useful categories. Many links lack descriptions, but still quite a useful
site.

they Are, How They Work, and Practical Suggestions for Getting the Most Out of Them
"First, some background is given, then there is a section on how search engines work
(including hints on how to get your site found). Finally, some search examples are given
to illustrate which engine performs the best, and how you can get the most out of search
engines."

Engines Danny Sullivan, of Calafia Consulting, has put together a fine site with
good advice on how to use search engines to best advantage.
