The International Chamber of
Commerce Directory provides e-mail addresses and links to chambers of
commerce around the world.
This List
of Associations provides the names ans e-mail addresses of a variety of
associations.
Rotary International, an association
of more than 27,500 Rotary clubs in 154 countries around the world, includes a membership
of nearly 1.2 million business and professional men and women. This site provides
information about the history and mission of the organization and about its activities.

Businesses by Name and Product
BigBook, a free service that calls
itself "a whole new kind of yellow pages," allows you to locate businesses
throughout the United States by searching by business name or category and by local area.
Switchboard provides nationwide
business directory that you may search at no charge for addresses and telephone numbers,
but e-mail addresses are not available.
A Handy Guide is
an alphabetical lisitng of Internet directories and guides that contains many interesting
links. "The most unique feature of A Handy Guide is the a incorportation of American
Sign Language throughout our index directory tree."
BizWeb provides free access to links
to more than 4,000 business web pages. Links are organized by product category and a
search engine is also provided.

Company Information
Dun & Bradstreet Information Services
provides business information over the Web through its Online Access pages. "Use your
secure browser to search D&B's vast database of more than 10 million U.S. companies.
There's no charge for searching -- you pay only when you order a report." Online
business background reports are $20.00.
Barron's Company Index brings some
of its magazine and alot of corporate information online. The site is currently free, but
you must register to use the site and you receive a password by e-mail. The site provides
detailed information about companies using an alphabetical index.
IPO Central, a "satellite
site" to Hoovers, provides information on companies that have filed to go public. It
provides a directory of Intial public offerings (IPOs) and a link to the Securities and
Exchange Commission's EDGAR database so you can update their information. The site also
contains a Beginner's Guide to IPOs, a featured IPO and a feature called The Insider.
The Thomas Register of American
Manufacturers provides a searchable database of American Manufacturers. You
must join to use it, but membership is currently free.

Convention and Trade Show Information
Expo Guide provides information on conferences, trade shows and
exhibitions, searchable by date, location, date and keyword.
The Computer Events Directory
bills itself as "the leading source of information on technology conferences,
exhibitions, seminars and tradeshows."
COMDEX On-line provides details on
COMDEX events worldwide, a very influential series of computer industry trade shows.
The Guerrilla Guide to High Tech Trade Shows
provides survival tips and links to sites maintained by promoters.

Data Useful in Business
Ceisin's U.S. - Demography HomePage "is part of an initiative to
identify, document, and provide simple access to demographic information concerning The
United States of America." The data accessable through this site includes Public Use
Microdata Samples, Current Population Survey, Economic Census Data, County Business
Patterns, County City Data Book, Statistical Abstract Supplement, National, Econmoic,
Social, and Environmental Databank, Regional Economic Information Sysytem, Enhanced County

Financial Markets
CNNfn , a leading online financial network, provides free access to stories
and features on breaking financial developments. "[M]any CNNfn stories will now link
directly to Hoover's Online, giving users of the CNNfn web site the ability to use
Hoover's in-depth profiles of companies in the news."
The Reuters' Money Network
provides stock market and business information. The site features the Protfolio Tracker,
from Quick & Reilly, a presently free service that lets you set up and track up to 19
portfolios with up to 30 quotes in each.
Wall Street Directory, Inc.
"contains over 3000 pages of information for computerized traders and investors, with
more than 2500 products and services from companies & institutions - located both on
and off the Internet."
If you are using a frames enabled browser and you are in search of financial links, visit
the RMB News (South Africa)
site. It provides financial news from South Africa, and includes a side frame that
contains an impressive set of links to financial news all over the world, stock exchanges,
brokerage companies, and many other sources of financial information.

Government Resources
The FinanceNet "is the
Internet's home for public financial management worldwide. It was established by Vice
President Gore's National Performance Review in Washington, D.C. in 1994 and is operated
by the National Science Foundation (a Federal agency) under sponsorship of the U.S. Chief
Financial Officers Council." The site is designed "to share information and
ideas for improving the stewardship and accountability of taxpayer resources at all levels
of government" and has links to many related resources.
The U.S. Business Advisor
"exists to provide business with one-stop access to federal government information,
services, and transactions. Our goal is to make the relationship between business and
government more productive." This service answers common questions on exports, OSHA,
small business, taxes and Social Security. It also contains guides on things like how to
get a passport, how to do business with the General Services Administration, and how to
obtain disaster relief. The site also allows you to search government information,
including regulations in development and FinanceNet, the Internet's central clearinghouse
for "all electronic information from federal, state and local governments on the sale
of all manner of property and surplus, from planes and boats to loans and homes." The
site also contains information browsable by category, and provides news of interest to
business.
The Department of Commerce Home Page
provides information about agency activites and links to other government resources.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office
site allows you to search the US Patent Database, to order copies of patents and
trademarks and to find out information about intellectual property, including links to
intellectual property offices in governments around the world.
The U.S. Census Bureau Official
Statistics Page has a wealth of statistical information concerning the people of the
United States as well as a section on current economic indicators.

Internet Resources
The Worldclass Supersite
provides a "free daily updated guide to the Web's best global business sites, with
step-by-step commentary and instant access to 500 top sites from 70 countries." An
excellent place to look for business resources on the Internet.
iWorld's Guide to Electronic Commerce
contains an imprssive arrary of resources including "an entire section to information
resources on the internet for electronic commerce, including print sources, conferences,
user groups, teaching resources, jumpstations, mailing lists, research groups, and news
sources."
The Baker Library (Harvard Business
School) contains electronic resources and links to Internet Resources. Some
material is available only to students of the school.
Cyberpreneurs
Guide to the Internet provides information about selected resources for the
entrepreneur on Internet, including Listservs, newsgroups and gopher addresses. While the
presentation at this gopher site lacks the glamour of the many Web sites, the information
provided here is important if you hope to take fuller advantage of non-Web Internet
business resources, such as newsletters and newsgroups.
